After everything my mom had done—everything she had said about me, trying to tear apart my marriage—there she was, putting on a show for the crowd, acting as if she was some innocent, fun-loving woman. I had always known she was manipulative, but this felt different. This was crossing a line I never thought she’d cross.
“What is going on with her?” Noah muttered, his tone more confused than angry. I had no answer. I felt completely lost.
The Kiss Cam moved on to another couple, but my mind was still stuck on my mother. My own mother had just embarrassed me in front of thousands of strangers. It wasn’t just the kiss.
