I Returned from the Hospital with My Twin Daughters to Find the Locks Changed and My MIL’s C…r….u..3..l Note Waiting

After giving birth to my first children, I hoped my husband would put us first over his mother, but that didn’t happen. This time, he’d chosen her side for the last time, so I exposed her for the cruel liar she was. You’d think bringing home your newborn twins would be one of life’s greatest joys.

For me, it started that way, but it soon became a complete nightmare! After three days in the hospital, recovering from a rough delivery, I was finally cleared to go home with my precious twin daughters, Selene and Myra. I’d dreamed of this moment for months: my husband, Torin, picking us up with flowers, eyes teary with happiness as he held one of the girls.

But instead, at the last minute, I got a rushed call that changed everything…

“Hey, love,” my husband said, his voice short. “I’m so sorry, but I can’t pick you up as planned.”

“What?” I asked, fixing the blanket around Myra. “Torin, I just had twins.

What’s so important that you can’t—”

“It’s my mom,” he interrupted. “She’s really unwell. Bad chest pains.

I have to get her and take her to the hospital near her.”

His words felt like a cold splash of water. “What? Why didn’t you tell me earlier?

Torin, I need you here.”

“I know,” he said, sounding stressed. “But this came up suddenly, and it’s serious. I’ll come to you as soon as I can.”

I gritted my teeth, fighting the urge to shout from disappointment and frustration, but I said, “Fine.

I’ll get a cab.”

“Thanks,” he mumbled before hanging up. My husband’s mother lived in another city, so the chances of him getting back that day to pick me and the babies up were slim. Knowing how devoted Torin was to his mom, he wouldn’t leave her alone, so I arranged the taxi.

As the call ended, my heart sank. I wanted to believe Torin wasn’t being heartless, just overwhelmed and tied to his mom. Still, the pain hit hard.

The same mother-in-law (MIL) who insisted we give her a spare key to our house to “help” with the babies was now suddenly sick. I tried to shake it off as I secured the girls in their car seats, which their dad had dropped off the day before, and got us into a cab. When we pulled into the driveway, I froze.

My suitcases, diaper bags, and even the crib mattress were scattered across the lawn and near the doorstep! A knot formed in my stomach. I paid the driver and stepped out with the twins, glancing around nervously.

Something was clearly wrong…

I approached the front door, fumbling with my keys while calling Torin’s name, even though I knew he wasn’t home yet. The key wouldn’t turn. Confused, I tried again.

Nothing. Then I saw a folded note taped to a suitcase. Get out with your little leeches!

I know everything. Torin. My breath caught, and my heart raced.

My hands shook as I read the note again and again, hoping it was a mistake. This couldn’t be real. Not Torin…

Not the man who held my hand through every doctor’s visit, who cried when we first heard our daughters’ heartbeats.

Then the worst part of that day began…

Desperate for answers, I called him immediately. Straight to voicemail. Again.
