Daniel remarked in a chilly tone, “I made the appointment for tomorrow,” while avoiding making eye contact with her. Sophie was dangerously close to fainting. “When is your appointment?”
He did not show any reluctance.
“The medical facility. We all agreed that it is the greatest.”
Instead, she had the need to yell. Neither of us could agree on anything.
It is up to you. She was well aware of the reason. For some weeks, he had remained silent.
After a while, he stopped inquiring about her desires and her sickness, and he stopped kissing her goodbye in the morning. Once upon a time, he would kiss her six-month-old tummy every night, but now he pays no attention to it. Subsequently, the whisper that was overheard was between Daniel and Veronica.
His new “business partner” in the deal. Younger, more cruel, and more affluent. And without any children.
Sophie spoke the words, “I’m not going to do it,” as her voice was trembling. “There is no other option available to you.” A harsh tone emerged from him. “You will continue to have a place in my house if that is what you so desire,” she said.
The tears began to well up in her eyes. “What do you mean, if I want to stick with you?”
He chose not to respond. Simply walking out of the room, he slammed the door shut behind him.
On that particular evening, Sophie packed a little luggage. The bare minimum is required. No letters of farewell, and no tears.
Her unborn children and her resolve were the only things that she brought with her into her possession. At the break of morning, she departed. Over the course of five years, the engine of the beautiful automobile began to purr as it made its way toward the town that Sophie had once left.
The two little boys, who were sitting in the rear, were clothed in matching navy blue suits and were looking out the window with an expression of interest and a quiet power that was similar to hers. Her hands were firmly grasped by their kind hands. She asked them, “Are you ready, boys?” as she continued to glance at them in the rearview mirror.
Both of them gave a nod. This is the moment when we will meet your father. The sound of her heart pounding in her chest was like thunder.
There was no drama involved in her return. It’s not out of sympathy. Even if it were for vengeance.
It was for the truth that she returned. And for the sake of justice. In terms of appearance, Daniel Weston had not undergone a significant amount of change.
Even when he got out of his silver sports vehicle and into the lobby of his legal business, he wore the same fine suit and smiled with the same smugness. The word “Weston, Crane & Morgan” was inscribed on the glass door next to his name, indicating that he was now a partner. However, when he glanced up and saw Sophie there on the pavement, he was taken aback.
His jaw fell forward. When he looked at the two youngsters who were sitting close to her, the color started to go from his face. The question “Sophie?” His speech was stuttering.
“Hello, Daniel,” she began, her tone of voice composed and confident. It has been quite some time. In a worried manner, he peered about.
