Moments later, our family emerged from the hospital entrance—my father in his business suit, Aunt Karen, cousins, and in-laws, all expecting a somber visit to a hospital room.
What they got instead was a spectacle: rows of motorcycles, leather-clad riders, and Grandpa Jack looking prouder than I’d ever seen him.
My father stormed over.
“What is this? We thought he was dying! We were worried sick!”
