After his wife’s funeral, Artyom brought home a young girl.
“This is Elya. She will be your new mother,” he said.
– Dad… Are you serious? Are you nuts?
How could you do this to me and Mom?
– Son, how can you say that? I am not a traitor or a murderer, as you probably think. Life just continue.
– Life?

– Denis!

Denis didn’t argue any more.

Four years passed, and Eleanor thought about having a child more and more often.
She wanted the sound of children’s laughter to re-emerge in the house.
But nothing happened for her and Artyom.
“Elka, let’s wait,” her husband urged. “We have everything ahead of us. We are healthy, we just need time.”
But Eleanor did not believe in “time”.
She told her friend about her fears.
“Then take a child from someone else,” she suggested without a shadow of surprise.
“For example, from Stas, my common-law husband. Handsome, healthy, gym – everything is fine.”
– But Artyom can do a test and remove both out.
– Then think for yourself. Just don’t delay – while you’re young and beautiful, you have an opportunity to stay close.
Eleanor thought about it.
She took her own plans.
That evening Eleonora was waiting for her husband at home, but he unpredictedly called and said that he had to urgently leave for the distant Moscow region.
Denis showed up late. Eleanor also went upstairs.
She waited for a moment, but then quietly entered. Seeing Denis in the shower, the woman slowly approached him from behind and put her arms around his shoulders. H

The morning started with silence and the realization of what had occured.
They woke up in his bed.

“Nothing has changed,” Denis answered coldly.
“You wanted it, I didn’t refuse. As a stepmother, you are indifferent to me, but as a woman, you are attractive. But nothing more.
I have a girlfriend, we just haven’t gotten to that point yet. If you want it again, knock on the door. But for now, go home.
