Just when I thought everything was perfectly lined up for a relaxing weekend getaway with my husband, the unexpected happened. Without a word of discussion or warning, she simply handed them over and left, disappearing down the walkway before I could even process what was happening.
My eyes fell to the neatly packed bags sitting by the door, ready for our trip, and the weight of disappointment hit me hard.
