When she was younger, Hollywood praised her for her wavy blond hair and blue eyes, making Kathleen Turner one of the most beautiful faces in the industry.

She rose to fame in the 1980s, known for her strength and attractiveness.

This inner fortitude helped her navigate both good and bad times throughout her life.

Kathleen had a difficult childhood, growing up in London and Venezuela.

Tragedy struck when her father passed away unexpectedly. Shortly after, her family was forced to leave the UK, eventually settling in Missouri.

As an adult, Turner found peace when she moved to New York to pursue an acting career.

Her breakthrough came in 1981 with the film *Body Heat*, and she gained even more fame starring alongside Michael Douglas in *Romancing the Stone* in 1984. Kathleen married Jay Weiss that same year, and they had a daughter, Rachel Ann Weiss. Unfortunately, their relationship began to strain as they raised their daughter, leading to their eventual divorce.

Turner’s career remained strong, earning her an Oscar nomination for *Peggy Sue Got Married* in 1987.

However, in the 90s, she faced a major challenge when rheumatoid arthritis made it difficult for her to move. Despite this, Kathleen continued her work, turning to yoga and pilates to manage her pain.

She refocused her efforts on theater, finding success on stage and earning a Tony award nomination.

Outside of her career, Kathleen has been passionate about causes like Amnesty International and Planned Parenthood.

Her commitment to feminism and supporting other women is well documented, especially in Gloria Feldt’s memoir *Send Yourself Roses*.
