Our Neighbors Set Us up in Front of Our Landlord to Move into Our Home – We Gave Them What They Wanted

Julia is appalled by her new neighbors’ plot to evict her and Ethan. To fight back, Ethan and Julia devise a brilliant method that would make them regret lying. The unsuspecting couple discovers Julia and Ethan’s secret when they move in, but it’s too late.

Julia and Ethan did what? Something weird happened in the living room as I was enjoying the bright afternoon. Our new neighbors Pamela and Robert were inspecting our front yard.

They peered through windows and examined the garden. I met them outdoors with a fake smile. “Hi, neighbors!”

Jumping, Pamela faced me.

“Oh, boy, you scared us!”

Even though I was nervous, I smiled. “So, do you like the house?”

Pamela glanced at Robert before responding. This is wonderful.

The garden is lovely.”

Robert nodded assent. “We liked your roses. Their beauty.”

I was proud but wary.

“Thank you. We’ve looked after them a lot.”

Pamela scanned the yard. “You must be very proud of your home,” said.

I nodded. “We are. Work is hard, but worth it.

We have a large living room with a fireplace, a comfortable front porch for evening tea, and a newly refurbished kitchen with contemporary amenities. The rear sunroom is my favorite reading location.”

Robert surveyed again and stated, “Great job. Would you wish to move?”

I laughed to calm down.

“We put a lot of effort into this one, and we love it, so no.”

Pamela and Robert laughed awkwardly. They hastily muttered about going home and left. As they went, I couldn’t ignore the weird impression their behavior gave me.

My mind remained racing after returning inside. They snooped why? What were they seeking?

I sat down to soothe my anxieties, but I had to watch them. This wasn’t my expected welcome from new neighbors. Ethan arrived home later, and I told him what occurred.

The man scowled, reflecting my unease. “We’ll monitor them,” he said. “But for now, let’s not worry too much.”

I nodded, but this peculiar experience with Pamela and Robert still made me nervous.

A week later, it all made sense. A knock on the door interrupted Ethan and me in our living room, where the gentle evening light was calming. Mr.

Thompson, our landlord, was standing there with a severe face when Ethan opened it. Ethan said, “Evening, Mr. Thompson,” trying to sound nonchalant.

Mr. Thompson sighed and gave Ethan an envelope. “I’m sorry, but I have to give you this.”

Ethan opened and inspected the envelope.

His expression darkened as he read. “It’s an eviction notice,” he handed me. Shaking hands, I grasped the paper.

“Eviction? Why?” My voice rose as I demanded. Mr.

Thompson appeared uneasy. “Pamela and Robert complained about the noise from that birthday party you had a few days ago and mentioned a foul smell coming from the garden.”

This is absurd! What makes you trust those lies?” I screamed, furious.

Sighing, Mr. Thompson apologized. “Other neighbors supported the latest concerns.

Combining voices tipped the scale. Poor me, but my hands are tied. One week to resolve this.”

Ethan comforted me with his arm.
